Collection: Grant Searcey

He had a gift of being able to tap into his powerful imagination and turn his visions into whimsical works of art. His inspiration came from a variety of sources. He described it as a melting pot of mother nature, science fiction, comic book, steampunk, anime, graffiti and street art. Grant grew up in a small rural community in Nebraska and with fewer distractions he felt that his imagination was allowed to blossom as a child. He studied fine art, psychology, Spanish, and art history at the University of Nebraska. He took part in his first gallery reception at age 20 in 1996 where he sold his first painting. After a decade living and painting in San Diego in Los Angeles, and with a brief stint in Taos, New Mexico, his path brought him to Dahlonega Georgia. Three of his paintings were reproduced and distributed globally by Lucas film/Disney. A painting was also part of a group art exhibit inspired by the popular TV show Family Guy. An association with 20th Century, Fox, and Acme archives this show launched in Hollywood and toured around the world.
